＜要旨＞
今日の国際医薬品業界では企業間のトランザクションによる医薬シーズの授受が活発化しており，オープン・イノベーションの推進は多くの企業にとって重要な経営課題である．本論文では，日本国内に本社機能を持つ製薬企業を対象に実施した提携実績及び組織対応状況の調査結果を述べ，企業間トランザクション機能を強化するための施策について論じる．調査対象企業を案件数の上位企業群と他の企業群の2群に分け比較したところ，獲得件数のみならず，相手及び対象地域の国際性，手段の多様性も大となった．また，自社の戦略投資機能を積極活用する一方，相手企業のライセンス担当者や業界団体等の活用度及び有用度は低かった．さらに事例研究の結果からは，関連部門・機能の設置と自律的かつ協調的な組織マネジメントの重要性が示唆された．これらの結果は，単なる企業規模の議論に陥りがちであった本課題に，組織的対応による改善の可能性を与えるものである．
<Abstract>
In response to an increased trend of inter-corporate transaction of pharmaceutical products/ candidates promoting and implementing the notion of open-innovation is being widely discussed. In this report we aimed to propose practical ways of management to strengthen organizational capability for inter-corporate transactions by conducting a set of researches to Japan-based pharmaceutical companies upon their strategic and organizational measures. Through a comparative approach between a group of high-performing companies in the number of transactions and the others we detected in the former group significant higher values in the indexes representing internationality and diversity in the forms of transactions. Also we observed a tendency that these high performing companies were proactively utilizing their own strategic investment functions, regardless of dependency on counterparts’ representatives and industry societies. Finally, through case studies we found the significance of a management style that ensures the autonomy of related intra-corporate departments/ functions and cooperation amongst them. These findings strongly suggest the possibility of institutional approaches for organizational capability building and subsequently, may give a direction to mid-sized and small capital pharmaceutical companies for the improvement.
