<Abstract>
The sharing of resources like food and land, as a measure to improve the relationship to nature, food production, local produce and identity and sustainable lifestyle have gained salience in recent years, observed in surging numbers of relevant projects and studies. The increasing possibilities of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) add a new dimension to the sharing dynamic. The use of digital applications due its nature expands the geographic and social range.
This case study explains the approaches of mundraub, a digital map for fruit trees, made by citizens for citizens, with the aim to reconnecting nature and people, rediscover, preserve and share knowledge about edible plants and create a social network. A short introduction of other sharing projects with similar or related focus, such as food saving or land sharing, shows the change of sharing behaviour and gives an indication of if and how future projects can implement ICT to improve their public acceptance. To accept citizens as emerging actors for co-creating, co-managing and co-monitoring of green space can result in a better acceptance and long-term existence of projects. Despite the challengez related to organization and management, sharing services and the leverage of ICT tools can offer novel approaches to the shared use of green space.
