“Thoughts on Employee’s Invention-Lessons from German Experience-“
Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the Univ. of Tokyo and System Strategy Building Group, the Intellectual Property Association of Japan (TBC)
Goal of the Conference:
“How should we protect the right of an employee-inventor in a company?” This is one of the most critical issues for Japan to transform into a Knowledge-based Economy. Interestingly, German law, which we followed historically, is now attempting to abolish its 45 years’ insistence on the Employee’s Invention Law. We will discuss this issue to find out the right direction to give a right legal protection for an employee-inventor, with a leading German lawyer, with any updates of German evolution after its National Election in September.
